The Chapel began as the Blenheim Methodist Church, a prominent place of worship for the Methodist congregation of the Blenheim area. In 1942 it was relocated to Mt Berryman, and in August 1943 it reopened as a Baptist Church, adapting to the changing needs of the community while remaining a place of worship and fellowship.

After serving the community for several decades the building fell into disuse. In 2009 it was carefully relocated to the Pioneer Village, where it has been preserved for future generations.

Known today as the Pioneer Memorial Chapel, it houses a collection of vintage organs and remains a functional space for significant life events such as christenings, weddings and funerals.
